Advisory Board for Minority Issues

Under the Act on the Ombudsman for Minorities and the National Discrimination Tribunal, the Advisory Board for Minority Issues assists the Ombudsman in dealing with issues related to the prevention of ethnic discrimination and the monitoring and supervision of ethnic non-discrimination, and in promoting cooperation between various authorities. Further provisions on the duties, composition and work of the Advisory Board are laid down in the Government Decree on the Ombudsman for Minorities. The duties of the Advisory Board are: 
  • to submit proposals for and issue opinions on developing the supervision and monitoring of ethnic non-discrimination and safeguarding the status and rights of foreigners; and
  • to develop cooperation between public authorities and organisations in issues related to the supervision and monitoring of non-discrimination and the prevention of discrimination.
The Advisory Board for Minority Issues is chaired by the Ombudsman for Minorities
